Sara started playing violin when she was seven. She has been performing in chamber ensembles from an early age, playing quartets for a wedding where royalty were present, RAF events and even Masonic dinners! Early experiences include performing at the Southbank, playing in the Purcell room and leading an orchestra in the Queen Elizabeth Hall. She has also played in St. John Smith’s Square, and even sung grace before Tony Blair.
Sara has graduated from Manchester University with honours in music. She has also achieved a performance diploma and received masterclasses from both the Lindsay Quartet and Hugh Bean. She has subsequently studied with John Ludlow and Rita French.
She is now heavily involved in local music making. She has most recently performed a Mozart concerto with several orchestras, as well as currently leading two quartets. She also leads the Dorking Chamber Orchestra, and has been asked to take leadership of the Argyle Orchestra in Bath. Sara has also led viola in the Horsham Symphony Orchestra and the Sinfonia Tamesa in London.
Sara has regularly performed at weddings, functions and funerals, both as a soloist and as part of Duo Storioni, a violin duo that arranges and provides music for events around the country. She teaches in schools and has numerous private pupils, and has been involved in producing a book called Violinbabies, starting very young children on the violin.
